
Goldsmith and jewel setter Marcus Marienfeld has been working on innovative eyewear in his manufactory in Ried-Brig for almost over 30 years. Under the direction of Marcus Marienfeld, the team creates small works of art – individually adapted to the respective anatomy on request.
After all, the wearer should be as comfortable as possible. As a visit to the manufactory shows, nothing is left to chance. Milling, laser cutting and filing are carried out with great concentration at the workstations. It’s all about precision. Every detail has to be right. And it all starts with the right material. Titanium, Indian water buffalo horn, carbon and 18kt gold are the raw materials for the high-quality frames. Marienfeld relies on laser technology, as he demonstrates in his workshop. A pure welding process, without the addition of any harmful foreign materials. The laser beam can be adjusted so finely that it can even be used to polish the weld seam. However, this requires a great deal of experience and skilled hands. And, of course, a good eye. Marienfeld knows from experience. Working independently is his trademark.

畢竟,眼鏡佩戴者的舒適體驗向來是首要考量。走訪這間工坊便不難發現,每一個製作環節皆經過縝密規劃,絕無半點馬虎。工作檯前,團隊成員全神貫注地進行銑削、雷射切割與銼磨等工序,「精準」可謂是整個製作過程的核心。每一個細節都必須達到完美標準,而這一切的起點,在於選用優質的原材料。鈦金屬、印度水牛角、碳纖維與 18K 金,皆是打造高品質鏡框的基礎素材。Marcus Marienfeld 在工坊中親自示範,展現其對雷射技術的高度依賴。這是一種純淨的焊接工藝,無需添加任何有害的外來物質。雷射光束的精密度可調至極高,甚至能用於焊接接縫的拋光處理。然而,要達成這樣的工藝水準,不僅需要豐富的經驗與熟練的技藝,更離不開一雙善於捕捉細節的銳利慧眼 —— 這些皆是 Marcus Marienfeld 憑藉多年實踐積累的寶貴財富。而「堅持獨立研發製作」,更是他獨樹一幟的品牌標誌。
