As the first major international eyewear event of the year, the Munich Eyewear Exhibition (opti) concluded successfully on January 18. This year’s opti delivered an impressive performance, with growth across total buyer numbers, international buyers, and exhibiting brands:
- 21,972 professional visitors, up 4% from 2025
- 4,491 international professional visitors, an increase of more than 5% year-on-year, further elevating the level of internationalization
- 354 exhibitors, up more than 7%, reaching a new high in recent years
These strong figures vividly demonstrate the vitality of opti and the eyewear industry!

This Edition’s Highlight: opti SPHEARE
As a major new digital and interactive space launched by the exhibition, this 200㎡ area made its debut by focusing on the field of hearing acoustics. Nearly 30 industry exhibitors presented on-site, exploring the synergistic effects between optometry and hearing acoustics!
From integrated designs combining eyewear and hearing aids to multi-sensory health solutions, the zone opens up entirely new potential avenues for the optical industry. It also provides optical retailers with fresh perspectives for developing comprehensive business models and strengthening market competitiveness. This is recognized by the exhibition organizers as one of the core directions for future retail.

This Edition’s Highlight: TOMORROW VISION – Future Vision
TOMORROW VISION – Play smart. Move free. For the second time, TOMORROW VISION – the joint platform of leading contact lens manufacturers – set strong impulses, this time centred around the theme of sport. Practical, hands-on presentations and concrete application examples, in combination with the products of the contact lens providers, showed how lenses can optimally support active, sporty customers.
