Ørgreen has always had a way with colour. Not in the loud, look-at-me sense, but with the quiet authority of a brand that knows exactly what mood it wants to set. With NYHAVN, the Copenhagen eyewear house turns that instinct into a new material story, a new debut for the stainless steel collection that feels effortlessly modern, considered, and refreshingly clear in intent.
Best known for its precision titanium frames, Ørgreen brings the same craftsmanship and restraint to NYHAVN, only with a lighter, younger sensibility. Ten designs make up the first capsule, each defined by an uninterrupted wash of colour from front to temple tip, where silicone and metal merge into one seamless hue. The result is eyewear that reads not as decoration but as design: pure, architectural and quietly confident.
Technically, too, it’s a showcase. The temples taper from 3 mm down to a near-impossibly slim 0.6 mm, balanced by a newly engineered flex hinge that is almost invisible and deeply functional. Models like Fjord Line and Storm Signal express this language with precision. The former introduces a 2 mm hinge and an integrated rimlock hidden within the pad arm, ensuring an unbroken silhouette. The latter pushes minimalism to its limit: a single sheet of horizontal steel, impossibly thin, softened only by the tactility of Ørgreen’s colour.
As Head of Design, Martin Guentert puts it, “NYHAVN represents what we believe a contemporary eyewear concept should be. No-nonsense, timeless, and accessible.”
