Japanese eyewear designer Masahiro Maruyama continues to embody the philosophy of “Unfinished Art” in his creations, presenting various elements of “imperfection” and “asymmetry” through irregular lines, unique structures, and dual-colored frames in his eponymous brand, MASAHIROMARUYAMA. His unconventional style leaves a lasting impression.
Recently, the brand officially launched its 2025 Fall/Winter collection. In contrast to the eye-catching but challenging-to-wear STEP series, this new collection features six styles that are suitable for everyday wear while maintaining strong brand recognition. Four of these pieces belong to the Sculpt series, which draws on the raw textures found in the artistic creative process. Iconic elements from sculptural art, such as stone carving marks, clay layering gaps, and metallic wire frameworks, are seamlessly integrated into the designs, resulting in frames with remarkable texture and form.
The other two pieces are part of the newly launched Untitled series, highlighting uninhibited creative inspiration. The frames are adorned with rivets of various shapes and scattered distributions, paired with asymmetrical bold lines, offering an effortless yet distinctive personality. The new collection features both round and square frames, with even the square shapes exhibiting a soft, rounded style. Each style offers 3 to 4 color options. The new pieces will gradually be available at approximately 270 partner retailers worldwide from this December.
