Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Global Sales Surpass 2 Million Units! The Next Anticipated Target Could Be Prada Meta!

Since their launch at the end of 2023, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have sparked a new trend in the intersection of technology and fashion, selling over 1 million units throughout 2024 and continuing to perform well in the first half of 2025. This success has significantly boosted the revenue of their parent company, EssilorLuxottica, which reported a record revenue of $16.25 billion in its latest financial results on Monday (28th). Notably, Ray-Ban Meta sales have exceeded 2 million units! Driven by this confidence, EssilorLuxottica’s stock price has risen over 23% since the beginning of the year, making it a focal point in both the tech and fashion industries.

EssilorLuxottica has been collaborating with Meta since 2019 to transform traditional eyewear into smart wearable devices using AI technology. CEO Francesco Milleri and Vice CEO Paul du Saillant jointly stated, “We are leading the transformation of glasses as the next computing platform, one where AI, sensory tech and a data-rich healthcare infrastructure will converge to empower humans and unlock our full potential.”

EssilorLuxottica owns several well-known brands, including Ray-Ban, Oakley, Persol, Prada, Miu Miu, and Chanel. In June, EssilorLuxottica and Meta launched the Oakley Meta smart glasses, marking the second eyewear brand to collaborate with Meta after Ray-Ban.

Meta and EssilorLuxottica have recently renewed a long-term cooperation agreement to develop multiple generations of smart glasses products over the next decade. According to CNBC, these two industry leaders in eyewear and technology are planning to launch Prada-branded smart glasses, which fashion enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating!
