韓To develop eyewear with an innovative twist, Gentle Monster has teamed up with Coperni on a futuristic collection of sunglasses. Featuring sunglasses with five lines that run along the temples, the collection is inspired by 5G technology and new ideas around connection and speed. This forward-thinking eyewear collaboration is also accompanied by a special Augmented Reality Instagram filter that allows users to virtually try on the 5G Bold sunglasses in a blue-colored, high-speed environment.
Shot by Parisian film director Alexandre Silbestein in an urban, avant-garde landscape, the Gentle Monster x Coperni campaign is a nod to the infamous movie The Matrix. It features a newly inspired trinity composed of the singer Le Diouck and models Louise Roberts and Jeanne Zheng transporting viewers into the two brands’ technology universes.
Spotted on models and celebrities like Zendaya at the SS22 Coperni show, the collaboration has two models of sunglasses that reference ’90s aesthetics from futuristic movies like RoboCop and Back to the Future. The 5G BOLD has a goggles shape that’s enhanced by voluminous curves, an acetate frame and an eye-catching Coperni logo on the nose bridge.
Offering a minimal variation on the 5G BOLD, the 5G has a cat-eye silhouette with an acetate frame and 99.9% UV protected lenses while continuing the Coperni logo on the nose bridge. To integrate the needs of a digital-friendly lifestyle, all models in this collection include a virtual set-up box that enables 5G communication with the 5G eyewear.
