One of Japan’ s most celebrated fashion designers, Kenzo Takada has collaborated with MASUNAGA, a leading Japanese eyewear manufacturer since 2014 to develop collaborative eyewear collection – MASUNAGA designed by Kenzo Takada collection, combining vintage inspired elements with fashion forward contemporary design. Delicate engraving on the bridge, the bar and the temples are reminiscent of 1920’s jewelry details. The original rim is designed with the star motif from MASUNAGA GMS and Kenzo Takada’s family emblem Campanule flower. The 2020 new collection is again another astonishing art-piece, keep scrolling down.
IRIS
IRIS is the first rim-less style from MASUNAGA designed by Kenzo Takada collection. The acetate overlay on the metal bridge accentuates the beauty of the acetate-metal combination look and adds the edge to the rim-less design often very minimalistic. It features the engraved arabesque pattern on temples and the original temple tips with crown-like metal pieces with Kenzo Takada’ s family emblem.
ORION
ORION is a combination frame with sophisticated brow detailing. It features a beautiful engraving on both the front and the back of the bridge. The metal part on the bridge creates a rich detail and it is both functional and decorative. All new end-piece design is inspired by U shaped end-piece styles seen in vintage combination frames and realized on the ORION with modern techniques. Delicately pressed details are applied on all sides of the parts.
JET
JET is round shaped sunglasses with all metal construction. Double rim front design with spaces at the bridge and the upper rim was inspired by the Japanese aesthetic of space. It features newly designed temple created with a motif from a lorgnette handle that was popular in the 19th century. Engraved arabesque patterns on both front and back of hexagonal column add beautiful vintage elements.
LOTUS
LOTUS is oversized cat eye sunglasses with uplifting top line. It has a bold profile by using acetate sheets 12mm in thickness but looks thin from the front view. The thickest part is 11.5mm from the side view and it adds the quality feel to the LOTUS.
