Carol Lim & Humberto Leon, creative directors of KENZO, are happy to present the new Maison eyewear collection made in collaboration with LVMH eyewear expert Thélios. At a time when the movement of peoples and the spread of cross-cultural dialogue marks daily lives more than ever, the interest in telling personal stories at KENZO has never felt more appropriate. Thus, the focus of this Fall Winter 2019 collection turned to Humberto’s own Chinese-Peruvian heritage – the Tusán people whose ancestors arrived from Guangdong province to settle in Peru in the 19th century.
Ethnic styles and vibrant colors are mixed with a touch of Parisian sophistication. The sunglasses collection echoes the codes of the season’s silhouettes. The result reflects KENZO’s strong personality: both unexpected and eclectic. If you are aware of the KENZO 2019 SS collection, you may feel familiar with the model KZ40035. A playful evolution of the eye shape, first seen during SS19 – this unmistakable construction reminds the wearer of KENZO’s eye symbol. A special design of multiple materials and combinations inspired by the concept of collage – a double lens overlay to create a new shape with an acetate eye-brow structure.
