Every year, theo eyewear collaborates with a student from the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. Not to launch a new collection, but to create space for creativity, experimentation and exchange.
For 2026, theo joined forces with Byron Wang. Born in Taipei and artistically shaped in Florence and Antwerp, Byron brings different cultural influences together in a sculptural and deeply personal visual language. Eyewear has always been part of his world. His parents run an optical store in Taipei, and Byron grew up surrounded by frames, colours and design. His graduation collection Lost in Transitory explores the space between connection and distance. Between people moving towards each other without ever fully merging. Between holding on and letting go. Between what remains and what changes.

An exclusive frame was designed for each of the collection’s twelve silhouettes. Not as an accessory added afterwards, but as an integral part of Byron’s design story. On the runway, fashion and eyewear appeared as one. The frames challenge the conventional logic of eyewear. Temples emerge unexpectedly from below. Forms detach, shift and reconnect. What first appears to be one continuous object reveals twists, openings and unexpected relationships between individual elements. Light adds another layer of movement. Depending on the angle, colours, transparencies and reflections change. Lines disappear and reappear. Layers of acetate reveal themselves differently with every movement.
