After the launch of a collaboration with Nike, Converse, and RIMOWA, the Tokyo fashion label AMBUSH has further pushed upward its popularity. We noticed the unique and extravagant AMBUSH x Gentle Monster sunglasses from AMBUSH 2019 AW Lookbook but the launch day has been a secret. And now we have to wait no more, still a week to go through.
The collaborative collection comes with three translucent colorways – bright orange, light blue and the clear – perfect color for summer! The collection was inspired by the sci-fi movie The Man Who Fell to Earth, and the glasses releasing later this month deliver a similar aesthetic to the bold, futuristic frames worn by David Bowie in the movie. The mask style sunglasses are equipped with silver-toned zip-tie hardware on the center and side of the frame. The zip-tie is a staple AMBUSH touch which first released in 2016. A dual-branded glasses chain can be hung up on the end tip, elevating again the statement attitude.
The collaborative sunglasses will drop on July 11 – 14 at the duo’s pop-up stores. They will also be available later via Gentle Monster and AMBUSH online, as well as at the AMBUSH WORKSHOP in Shibuya, Japan. All three sunglasses are priced at $350 USD.
